Lilah noticed Gabriel was clearly a little upset, so she quickly got up, walked around the tea table, and wrapped her arms softly around him from behind.

In a sweet tone, she said, “Don’t overthink it, I really didn’t mean anything by it. The teacher was recommended by my brother. She used to teach at a top university abroad but came back because of health issues. I looked up her background today—she’s talented, genuine, and really refined. She’s honestly an excellent pick.”

Hearing her explanation, Gabriel’s expression eased a lot. His hand naturally reached for hers, warm and steady. “As long as you’re okay with it, that’s enough for me.”

“I’ll send you her info tomorrow, just to keep you in the loop. You can get back to me after,” Lilah leaned her head on his shoulder, deliberately blowing air playfully toward his ear.

“No need. If you trust her judgment, go ahead and hire her. It’s about time we got Aiden a tutor. I hate seeing you worn out like this.”
