“Looks like you guys aren’t totally clueless when it comes to dealing with fake girls, huh?” Lilah couldn’t help but mumble.

He actually knew the whole time.

“Fake girls?” Gabriel raised an eyebrow, clearly confused by the term.

Lilah gave him a sheepish smile and got to her feet. “Nothing, really. It’s getting late, I should probably go wash up. You still heading to your study?”

“Nah.”

Gabriel had planned to pour himself another cup of tea, but he dropped the idea and stood up, slipping his hand into hers as they went upstairs.

Back in the room, Lilah asked, “Do you wanna shower first, or should I?”

“Can’t we just go together?”

His eyes were deep and steady, fixed on her.

Caught off guard for a second, Lilah’s cheeks turned pink.

Before she could say anything, Gabriel was already pulling her into the bathroom.

He ran the water in the tub first. Once it was filled, he walked over to her. “Want me to help you undress?”
