Lilah froze for a second.

Then her cheeks flushed. “Gabriel, you...”

This guy was getting bolder by the day.

Gabriel smiled faintly, picked up his glass and took a casual sip.

“I already asked Lance to clear my schedule. Since you’re on a business trip, I’m going with you.”

He set the glass down and added casually.

“I mean... I’d be fine going alone. No need to worry about me.” Lilah was cutting into her steak as she automatically repeated what Damien had told her.

Was her brother just overthinking things because he knew Gabriel so well, or was it that he didn’t trust her enough and assumed Gabriel wouldn’t either?

If it was the latter, then she kind of wanted to roll her eyes.

She was independent enough. A solo trip? Totally fine.

“What, don’t want me to go with you?”
