Daphne

I opened my eyes, adjusting to the sun ray, reflecting into my room. I tried to turn to the other side, but my muscles, and every part of me was weak.

So weak I could barely move.

I groaned and managed to stand up. Whatever was injected into me must be so strong, and that made the after effect worse.

Where was Zachary? I wondered.

Since he brought me back home, he suddenly disappeared and I haven’t seen him. The guards wouldn’t say anything, except they were given clear instructions to watch over me.

I swallowed hard and stepped my feet down. There was something different about how I felt. So different, like something so strong had suddenly gone, although it still lingers.

I walked into the bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror, then it occurred to me.

A few days ago, I could feel the bond so strongly, but now, it was silent. So silent I could barely feel it.

It was like standing in a room that had once been f
