The freedom I had imagined was nothing like what I was facing.

I thought I would finally have the free will to live and make my own choices. Instead, I was locked inside the house like a prisoner.

Ever since I received the letter, my parents had refused to let me step outside. They were convinced something would happen the moment I did.

And as if that wasn’t enough, Zachary made it worse by stationing guards around the house.

There was no way out. But I needed fresh air. I needed to breathe.
