Chapter 78. What Will People Think?

Emma’s POV

“Stay with you?” My voice trembles as I repeat Alpha Thomas’s words.

Reaching forward he grabs a hold of my hand and pulls me into his body. I am suddenly aware of how thin the dress shirt is. The night air is cool up against my body and the warmth radiating off of Alpha Thomas is inviting. I don’t know what is coming over me, but I let him pull me into his chest and rest his chin on the top of my head.

“Yes,” Thomas says sweetly. “Stay with me. Just for tonight.”

There is something inside of me that is screaming for me to say ‘yes,’ but there is an even bigger part of me that is screaming for me to run.

“I can’t stay with you,” I say as I pull myself away from Thomas’s warmth.

His hazel eyes look at me like a scolded puppy. “You can’t blame me for trying,” Thomas chuckles but the smile on his face does not meet his eyes.

I offer him a genuine smile in return. “This is the most fun I have had in a long time,” I admit to him
