A long decade of silence passes without a single transmission between us, but finally, a slight chuckle that was faint enough to miss an inattentive ear creases through the air.
Then she speaks, “You are pathetically delusional if you think, even for a second, that we care about that child of yours. It is just a mere risk we are willing to take just to show that we are still humans. She at least deserves some education. Hopefully, she will value it and not end up like you. That is all!”
