“And before you talk about work,” I raise an eyebrow as he speaks again. “I spoke to my good friend, Mrs. Julio, and I let him know that you would be reporting a bit late. So, you have not much of an excuse. Unless you are afraid of finally.”
“That will never happen!” I cut him off.
He smiles. A smile that shines all over the great city of Boston. He must be doubting my words. He raises his hands in playful surrender. “I know. Jokes aside. I am a good boy, to you only.” And that wink—I hope it is genuine.
Ooh well, he went through the trouble of even talking to my boss. Let us see how this goes. Ooh, I will so make you eat your own words, Mr. Adam Stone De Leon, because two things: I don’t see you lasting even a minute in that stinking dirty den, and neither can I imagine you lasting for a minute with a woman in a house and not giving in to the heat!
