Chapter 193. First Sale
It was her first day of the exhibition, and she had spent the entire day there, smiling at people who pretended to admire her work but ended up walking away empty-handed. Some did not even care to ask for prices, just complimenting her work and leaving her with no coin.
All hope was lost for that day. She took in a deep sigh of frustration, hoping that the rising of the sun the following would bring in new hope and new things. She stood up and went to look for the carton to pack her painkillers.
When she returned, she found a woman standing there with a man who seemed like her husband. The man was holding one painting, and the woman had three.
Ayans felt a ray of joy and hope wash over her as she approached. “Hi, sir, and madam! Sorry. I had gone to get the box so I could close it. My apologies for keeping you waiting.”
The woman smiled. “It is alright. How much for these?” She asked nicely.
“That would be $1200, ma’am!”
