Adam’s POV

“Wait, I am lost.” Daniel breaks the deafening silence after a long while, summoning my dark features to his much darker ones. His face is wrinkled up, denoting how he is floating in the breaking news. “Are you serious? That is unbelievable! I mean, who would dare do that? Who on earth has any ounce in them to reject the irresistible Adam Stone?” He queries in mental rejection.

A bittersweet smirk. I believe there was no single female soul in this entire world who would have the balls to reject me until I was harshly challenged today. I had not seen that coming. I could never have thought that something like that would ever be heard. I am still at a loss for words to explain how exactly I am feeling about that rejection.

It stings! It feels like a bad dream, yet her words are still rebounding in my head, and the disgust she felt for me is still so real. Her boldness is shaking my bones, making me question whether even this plan of mine will work
