Jeff’s smile faded slightly as he nodded. “Yeah, it wasn’t easy. But I’m here now, trying to piece things back together.”

Simon turned his attention to Drake, extending his hand with a friendly grin.

“And who’s this? A new friend?”

Jeff introduced them, his voice laced with gratitude. “Simon, this is Drake. He’s a lawyer, and he’s been helping me out with some things.”

Drake shook Simon’s hand with a confident smile. “Nice to meet you, Simon.”

Simon’s eyes twinkled with curiosity as he gestured towards a nearby bench.

“Come, let’s sit and catch up. I’ve got some wine here if you’re interested.”

They settled on the bench, the three of them forming a small circle. Simon poured glasses of wine and handed them out, the clinking of glasses accompanied by a sense of camaraderie.

Simon leaned back, taking a sip of his wine before leaning forward with a friendly grin. “So, Jeff, tell me, how’s life been treating you after all these years?”
