Chapter 22. Drunken Angel

Clara silently cried as Paxton told them everything that happened. She hell never expected that Paxton would face her fate this soon. For some reasons, Elena's hatred always directed towards Clara and she would use Paxton only to blackmail Clara.

"Do you know why she did this?" Clara asked softly cupping his cheeks.

"There is no such reason for her actions. Don't blame yourself" Paxton is surely a matured kid. Clara sometimes wondered how he could behave like a father to her.

"You have gathered courage at last to confront her. I don't want you to back off only because she hurts me. It's my battle now. You have endured a lot. But she should know that I don't have any Paxton to protect. So she better not behave like she behaved with you" Paxton's words made Clara so proud. She brought up her brother in a very courageous way. But she can't let him suffer alone.
