Chapter 12. Midsummer (1)

Noelle’s POV

When I wake up, I am still not sure if I want to go to the midsummer celebration tonight. I feel a bit depressed and for the first time since my stay, I don’t go eat breakfast. I stay in bed twisting and turning until I hear a knock on the door.

“Can I come in?” I hear Maya ask.

“Yes, you may.”

Maya walks in with a beautiful white dress in her hands.

“I have your dress for tonight here, you want me to help you get ready?”

I go sit on the edge of the bed and answer, “I’m not sure if I want to go.”

Maya looks at me confused, “Why not? It’s the most fun evening of the year.”

I sigh, “I just don’t think I will enjoy looking at King Roan performing the ceremony.”

Maya sits next to me, “Aha well I can’t decide for you if you want to go look, but it would be a shame to be stuck in your room all day. The whole city is beautiful tonight so you can still dress up and enjoy taking in the sights.”
