She was engaged. She didn’t believe a time like this would ever come. Though she could not get married yet because she had to walk first. Davis had told her it was okay, and he didn’t care. But she refused to be wedded while in a wheelchair. That’s not how she ever planned her life.

She was able to go home a few times, but the doctor said she had to stay in the hospital for some time so he could see her progress. Being in a wheelchair was tiring. She was never used to sitting down and was not able to move around. She needed a breath of fresh air.

Davis walked in, and she smiled. He was here at the right time. He walked up and kissed her lips, handing her a box of chocolate.

She raised her eyebrows. “What’s the occasion?”

“You being the most beautiful person ever.”

She punched his arm slightly, and he winced.

“What? You know I’m not wrong.”

“Yeah, whatever. Thanks for the chocolate.”
