Chapter 11
“What would you like to drink, Gilbert?” Nelson asked as they stood in front of the bartender.
Gilbert looked at the taps behind the counter and selected a beer.
“Make that two, please,” Nelson said.
The bartender poured the beers and then placed them on the polished counter.
“Thank you,” Nelson said as he paid, then picked up the drinks.
Gilbert looked for somewhere to sit and chose two chairs near the shadowed window. He thought that it was very dark inside as he took a seat.
“So, what did you want to talk about?” asked Nelson as he took a sip of his beer.
Gilbert took a sip as well and relaxed in his chair.
“We don’t spend time together except at work and during heats,” he said. “I sometimes wonder if we shouldn’t build up a friendship as well.”
“Oh really?” Nelson said with a big smile. “You might be right about that, Gilbert. What do you like to do with your friends?”
