Chapter 102

"Maya, you're still here...thought you left already," Purity said, her voice laced with concern as she tapped on the window of Maya's car. 

Maya's head jerked up from the steering wheel, her eyes blinking rapidly as she took in her surroundings.

"What's going on...where am I?" Maya asked, her voice laced with confusion and a hint of fear. She looked around, taking in the familiar sights of the school parking lot, but her mind was still foggy.

Purity's expression turned worried.

 "What do you mean...you're still in school, of course," she replied, her voice soft and reassuring. "You didn't...did you forget?"

Maya's eyes widened as she tried to piece together what had happened. She remembered driving home, but...everything was a blur.

 "I had a bad dream, just now," she said, her voice shaking slightly. "I'll call Lucas to come drive me home now."

As she reached for her phone, Purity's eyes narrowed.
