Chapter 23. This Was Not Supposed to Happen

This morning I realized that yesterday I had been a bit too mean and pushy with him, so the first thing that came to mind saying I was sorry was a cake, a chocolate cake. I knew he had to like it, because everyone loved chocolate. Although my intention to leave after the Gala was as real as it possibly could be.

I walked down the stairs into the kitchen, still shaking a little on my feet. It seemed Dominic had left. All the better. I was going to surprise him.

I had made today a special one. With my sight restored and back on my feet, I had much to celebrate. Megan was out, too. I had the entire house to myself.
