Chapter 25. Not Again!

Something was happening with my legs. I knew instantly that something was wrong. As soon as I woke up the day before the gala, where Dominic was dreaming of me walking in on his arm, I couldn’t feel my legs again.

Then I realized that even my eyes hurt from the bright morning sunlight coming through the window. It was so intense I had to close my eyes. Maybe even try walking up to the window and closing the curtain.

How hard could that be? Dominic was not here to help, but I believed I could handle it.

I pulled the blanket aside and revealed my legs. They seemed numb now, but I needed them to move. I was still wondering how they listened to me yesterday as I prepared for Dominic’s surprise. Maybe I was pushing myself too hard and today was difficult to leave my bed. I was a little scared, but I helped myself with my hands and lowered my legs one by one, lifting myself up.
