I flinched at that noise. It sounded like someone had broken a window or something. I heard it so close to me I got scared. Who could have been near my apartment? Whoever it was, must have been very upset about something. But I would not consider other people’s nerves. I had mine, and they were enough.

I then convinced myself that a warm bath would help me relax. And I really needed it. This day was a very hectic one and long. The drops of lavender oil worked wonders. As soon as I had immersed myself in the warm water, I closed my eyes. But my mind started flying in other places.
