Travis leaned against the cool marble countertop of the upscale coffee shop, his piercing blue eyes discreetly observing Camila as she navigated through the throng of caffeine seekers. The rhythmic tap of her heels on the tiled floor was a subtle overture to the presence she commanded in the room.

“Double espresso, please,” Camila ordered, her voice resonating with a sharp assertiveness that belied the early hour.

“Make that two,” Travis interjected smoothly, stepping up beside her as the barista nodded in acknowledgment.

Camila turned, a hint of surprise flickering across her expressive brown eyes before her lips curved into a sassy smile. “Fancy meeting you here, Mr. Turner. Keeping tabs on me?”

“Purely coincidental, I assure you,” Travis replied, his tone even but his gaze intent. “Although, I must admit, I’ve been somewhat... attentive to your recent endeavors.”
