Chapter 101. The Missing Babies

Carlos's POV

“So, you are back in town for good?”

Bruce nodded, and then pointed towards the police station building. “I was actually transferred to work here as a deputy.”

“No way!” I exclaimed in surprise. “I had no idea that was your area of study.”

He shrugged. “Well, it was. I hear you are enrolled in some nursing school?”

I nodded. “I am halfway through.”

He hummed. “That's nice. That's really nice.” He shook his head as he spoke. “I guess you didn't immediately enroll in the nursing school after high school or you would have been done already.”

I nodded. “I actually did a business course first as that was the direction my father wanted me to steer towards. You know how he has been grooming me to take over his beverage company since I was little.”

He nodded. It was no news to him. 

“But then,  after completing the course, I realized that it was my passion to go into the nursing field.”
