Chapter 12. The Reunion

Issahil's POV

He reached into his coat pocket, and brought out an object I recognized immediately as my locket. 

Wait… Why did he have my locket? Did he bring it along to give it to me because he knows how valuable it was to me? 

But then, something was off… He was crying… Why was he crying?

“Issa my dear, I am so sorry… Your father is so sorry…”

I let go of his hand immediately as my own tears fell. Shock washed over me as I replayed his words again in my head. Father? Did he just call himself my father?

“You are… You are my father?” I asked in between tears and he nodded.

I shook my head in negation, and then got off the bed to crouch on the floor while still shaking my head in disbelief. 

He was my father? No… How could that be? So, all along my father was alive and well yet he had not made any effort whatsoever to reunite with me!
