Chapter 168. The Agony He Deserved

Issahil's POV

I shook my head too fast…too hard. “No umm, something flew into my eyes. Dust perhaps…” 

Doubt played in her eyes. “Your voice don't sound right either.”

“Your father is fine. Maybe he is just tired. It's been a long day,” Tom said and she averted her gaze from me to him and her eyes seemed to scrutinize him.

“Okay,” she muttered quietly and turned to me. “Can I head back to cloudfall pack? I don't want to stay here and I have to check in on Erlind…”

“Of course, you should go along. We would stay here a bit, Tom and I. Go back with Alpha Matthias and the others. We would head back later to join you.”

She gave me a hum but didn't immediately leave, instead her gaze lingered on me worriedly.

“Are you sure you alright, father?” She asked and I hummed.

“Alright then… Later father.” She finally turned and made her way out of the room but I'd seen she hadn't been convinced.
