Chapter 2. First Time Meeting

When it was nine o'clock in the morning, a handsome man with a sharp nose, hazel blue eyes, and slightly blonde hair, was squatting in front of a crying little girl looking at him.

"Don't cry, sweetheart. Daddy went to work. I promised to come every week to play with you." The man named Dean Jackson tried to calm his daughter who was reluctant to leave.

"Let daddy go, Sofia. There's still a grandma who will accompany you to play and take you to school." Dean's mother named Lily also tried to calm her granddaughter. It was this middle-aged woman who had been helping Dean to care for Sofia since Clarissa died in childbirth.

"Yeah, Daddy can go, but I have to take me out every week!" Sofia grunted. Because she was not willing if his father left to work.

Dean smiled and hugged Sofia for a moment then kissed her cheek. he found it hard to leave his daughter to work as a bodyguard. The man was not sure about his job, because there was something that made him have to look after his mother and daughter too. But he needed this job to make a living.

Dean stood up and greeted Lily. "I'll go first, Mom. Take care of Sofia and don't let her play outside the house alone," he said.

"Yes, Dean. You take it easy. Your daughter is safe with her Mommy," Lily replied with a relieving smile.

"Yeah, I'm leaving now," said goodbye Dean. He looked down again to kiss Sofia and immediately walked while dragging the suitcase to the car that was waiting for him.

Lily and Sofia waved goodbye to Dean who would struggle to find sustenance to make ends meet.

Elsewhere, Bryana is packing at the hospital. Because Calvin was allowed to go home. luckily the boy only got minor injuries from being hit in the car yesterday.

"Is it done, Jill?" asked Raymond as he walked in.

"Yes," Bryana replied, carrying a bag filled with Calvin's clothes yesterday.

Raymond rushed over to Calvin who was still sitting on the bed with the bandage on his forehead. He immediately picked up his nephew and walked out of the room followed by Bryana.

They walked down the hospital corridors toward the exit. at that time it was still quiet because it was still early. Bryana hasn't had time to take a shower and is going to take a shower at home, meanwhile, Raymond looks neat because he slept at home last night and came to pick her up early in the morning.

"Is Lauren all right?" Bryana asked. she thought of her baby sister because yesterday when she went to chase Calvin, she left the girl in the car tied up.

"Of course," Raymond replied.

"Thankfully." Bryana breathed a sigh of relief as she walked casually side by side with Raymond.

"I've asked my trusted people to pick up two bodyguards, maybe now they've arrived at the house," said Raymond.

"That fast?" Bryana turned to look at Raymond who instead smiled at her.

"For the safety of you and my nephew, I will move fast."

Raymond and Bryana arrive at the hospital parking lot. They immediately got into the car and drove toward the house not far from the hospital. It only takes a travel time of 15 minutes they will arrive because the vehicle they are driving is a sports car and at this hour it is not too jammed.

Dean has arrived at the home of his prospective employer, which is Bryana's. The house looks grand and luxurious with a modern design. Silver-colored paint dominates the house, alternating with black on the pillars and every corner of the walls. There is a garage filled with luxury cars that are neatly lined up, a garden on the right side of the house, and a large yard.

'Clarissa, I'll stay here for the money. I will not let our child be deprived even if your family can afford him all the luxuries. Our children will remain safe from your family's pursuit,' thought Dean as he stared at Bryana's house from a distance.

"Are you named Dean Jackson?" asked someone who just approached Dean.

"Yes," Dean briefly greeted someone.

"I'm Louis, we will be partners here," said the man named Louis. He has a stocky body with a smooth face without beards and his hair is combed in a haircut style.

"Glad to work with you." dean took off his handshake.

"Oh yes. I heard, our prospective employer is a very beautiful woman of Indo-European descent. I'm very curious to see her beauty," said Louis excitedly.

Dean just smiled faintly in response. He chose to remain silent because he did not like to talk about topics around women. Clarissa's death was enough to make it difficult for him to accept every girl or widow who tried to seduce him.

"I've read the file about her, I hope I'll be the one who takes care of her and you take care of her son," said Louis with a mischievous smile. He did not reflect the usual bodyguard with a rigid and formal attitude.

"Hope your hopes are met," replied Dean casually. he hasn't even had time to read about his prospective employer data.

A car entered the courtyard of the mansion and stopped near where Dean and Louis were standing. Descend a man with a stout build with a beard as thick as Dean. it was Raymond who went straight to Dean and Louis

Bryana was also seen getting out of the car while carrying Calvin. she immediately walked over to Raymond who was chatting with two men she thought were foreign.

"Who are they?" Bryana asked, glancing at Dean and Louis.

"Your bodyguard candidate, Jill," replied Raymond.

"Oh." Bryana glanced at Dean, who didn't look at him at all, while Louis smiled pleasantly.

"Then I'll go in first," she said goodbye.

Bryana immediately walked toward the main door to enter the house while carrying Calvin who had been silent. since his parents separated, the child is quieter because his classmates often bully him.

'Oh my God, why does she look so much like Clarissa. The way she walked and looked at me was the same as her,' thought Dean. Secretly he noticed Bryana who looked like his late wife. but he tries to stay calm and thinks someone's likeness is natural.

"Dean, Louis. I'll divide your duties," said Raymond. "Louis is in charge of looking after Calvin and you Dean... in charge of looking after my sister, Bryanà," he continued with an explanation.

Dean and Louis nodded in understanding. then went back to listening to Raymond's explanation.

"My sister and nephew are being hunted for harm by a man named Alex. He has a bodyguard who often comes to harass them. I know you guys are trained and certified as bodyguards with excellent skills, I hope you can look after them well because I'm going to London."

Raymond climbed into the car briefly to pick up two documents and hand them over to Louis and Dean. "All of your duties are listed here."

"Well, we will understand and carry out this task well, sir," said Dean as he took the document. Likewise, Louis also took the document.

"Come on, I'll show you your room," said Raymond as he walked toward Bryana's house.

Dean and Louis followed, dragging their suitcases.

"It turns out that you are looking after that beautiful woman, you are very lucky, Dean," Louis whispered as he walked following Raymond.

"I don't know, this is lucky or not," said Dean. He felt like he saw Clarissa as Bryana. the man was afraid of being carried away if he continued to be close to her.
