Chapter 109. Pain, Loss and Vengeance
I was not listening. No, I could not listen. Everything was a blur, words flew over and at me, I heard voices but nothing was sticking in head. My brain cells were a scramble in that moment. Tears fell incessantly, my heart pounded so hard that I thought it would pull out from my chest.
My knees buckled, every part of me trembled. I wanted to cry out, to rid myself of this shocking, brutal pain, but I couldn’t. Only tears fell.
I saw the tall figure of someone hastening towards Uncle Pete and me. Uncle Pete was still talking to the doctor. I was not interested in whatever she had to say. Nothing she could say would stop this pain and fill my heart back with hope.
