“How did you—”
“Ask questions later.” Jared cut me off, already locked in a struggle with the masked, green-eyed bastard who had tried to take advantage of me.
Jared threw him off me like a sack of corn. The man’s body slammed into the wall and dropped helplessly to the floor. Grabbing the shard of glass, he pushed himself upright and lunged at Jared.
But Jared was expecting him. Jared reached for the gun, but the guy was swift enough to kick it out of his hands.
It skidded across the floor—landing a few feet away from me, close to my clothes.
I quickly began dressing while Jared fought him. They exchanged blows, the masked man trying desperately to slash Jared with the shard. Jared dodged every swipe with just enough time to avoid being cut.
