Chapter 29. Another Scandal
“This place is nice, uncle Pete.” I admired the interior decor of the restaurant we had just stepped into.
One of the waiters seemed to know uncle Pete and had ushered us to a private booth that had no customers except us.
“It belongs to a very close friend of mine,” he said, taking a seat opposite me.
Menus were placed before us. My stomach rumbled in hunger as soon as I opened the black and gold hardcover book-like menu that had so many dishes, categorized according to types and origins. I decided on Greek souvlaki, not because I'd had it before but because it looked nice.
Uncle Pete went for Italian beef tortellini in broth.
“I've had it once when I travelled to Florence and I liked it.”
“What drinks will you have?” the waitress who was attending our table inquired.
“I want something frui
