Chapter 80. Tantrums

Hailey POV

As soon as I stepped into the house and had barely taken two steps, Zaya came running from the living room.

“Mummy!” she cried, jumping into my arms.

I caught her, hugging her tightly. Her tiny arms clung around my neck, and I kissed her cheek. “My princess. I missed you.”

“I missed you too, Mummy.” She pulled back enough to look into my face. “Where did you go? You didn’t tell me. My tummy was paining me. Zion gave me water.”

Her little pout made me smile. “I’m sorry, baby.”

“You promised you wouldn’t leave again,” she accused, rubbing her eyes. “I was scared. Zion was scared too.”

My heart clenched. “I’m here now. I’m not going anywhere.”

She sniffled. “I want Daddy.”
