Chapter 20. What’s Going On?

Shimma’s POV

A loud yawn escaped my lips as I stretched my arms and legs.

I turned to glance at the wall clock, and a loud gasp escaped my mouth as my eyes flew open in shock. It was fifteen minutes past eight, and I was meant to be at work by eight. Shit!

I quickly jumped off the bed and rushed into the bathroom.

I was in such a hurry that I couldn’t even have breakfast. I got outside, only to realize I had left my car at the office yesterday.

I stared at my wristwatch. It was already a few minutes to nine. This was useless. Going to work today would be pointless. Mr. Mattias might get angry at me for showing up late on my second day. Or he might not. I don’t know; I just feel like it’s wrong.
