“I am off to bed. I'm exhausted. I will see you tomorrow. Liam, I am really sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you.” Even after everything, I still feel the need to apologise. All he does is grunt back. Georgina hugs me.
“When are you telling him about Max?” Seriously, I would rather wait as long as I can before mentioning him.
“There is no need for him to know, not yet anyway.” I don't think there is. Maybe I am wrong though?
“Alena, this isn't something you can hide. Max left marks, scars and damage that no doubt will soon catch up and cause trouble if Jackson doesn't know.” She is right, but I don't care. I am not ready to tell him my story yet. Nodding, I slowly begin walking to my bedroom. I climb into bed. My eyes close quickly, and sleep takes me away just as quickly—no thoughts of Jackson, Max or Liam in my mind, no replays of my past.
