The Prey
It was a nightmare, one that I wished I could wake up from. But there was no escape, no end in sight. I clung to the hope that his eyes would soften, that he would grin and tell me he was just kidding, that this was all some twisted game meant to scare me. But I knew better. Judas didn’t play games like that. Not this time. Not ever.
Nothing about him was predictable. He was cruel, his touch like the fire that burned through my soul.
I didn’t understand why he suddenly wanted to know about Ivan. Ivan was just a friend.
I knew he’d be more brutal if I didn’t tell him what he wanted to hear. He’d inflict pain on me and he wouldn’t feel an ounce of remorse. Why was I even expecting a psychopath to show emotions, the only two things he seemed to know were aggression and violence.
I clenched my bloodied fist. “He’s just a… friend.”
And I knew one thing—Judas didn’t ask questions for the sake of asking. He already had an answer
