The Prey
One wrong word and I was done for.
I trembled but I was unable to find the words he wanted to hear. I knew that no matter what I said, Judas would never let this go. He was a man who claimed what was his, and I was undeniably his.
It was a nightmare, one that I wished I could wake up from. But there was no escape, no end in sight. I clung to the hope that his eyes would soften, that he would grin and tell me he was just kidding, that this was all some twisted game meant to scare me. But I knew better. Judas didn’t play games like that. Not this time. Not ever.
Nothing about him was predictable. He was cruel with touch like the fire that burned through everything.
I didn’t understand why he suddenly wanted to know about Ivan. Ivan was just a friend and I didn’t know what to say to not tick him off. So I took a sharp breath and shook my head. The more I stared into his eyes, the quicker he’d be tempted to hurt me.
