Alpha Aiden’s heart was struck. He was breathing deeply and clenched his fist as a way to calm himself. “You think I do not know that?” He tried to reply calmly. 

“Well, you obviously don’t, because you left, did you not?” 

He stared at Sarah for a few seconds and smiled sadly, and then glanced at Clary. “You know what? I think we’re done here. I’m going to get inside and get some things for both of you to take with you on the road when you’re leaving.” 

“So you’re seriously going to kick us out?” Clary asked. “You were supposed to train me. The Moon goddess led me here to be trained to protect our pack.” 

“A pack that you forsook,” Sarah added quickly. 

“Are you just going to leave me to fight Star?” Clary continued, ignoring her mom.
