Chapter 166

The sound of the medical machine beeping echoed like it had been placed underwater. Clary’s eyes fluttered open and her vision was at first blurry before she blinked and it got cleared up.

The air smelled perfumed and the sound of the medical machine beeping was now more evident. The omega’s throat was parched and she tried to swallow but it was very uncomfortable. 

That made her cough a bit. 

That was when she noticed that she was not alone in what she guessed to be a hospital room, even though it looked a bit fancy. 

Who she saw caused her heart to drop. “Dad?” She tried to speak but her voice came out a hoarse cry. It was the preacher, the guy was sitting not far from her in a chair by the bed. 

The preacher almost choked on the juice that he was drinking. It was what one of the nurses had given him because he had been in the room for almost the whole day without eating; only leaving for the bathroom and water breaks.
