Chapter 61

I watch Ashton approach me and my breath hitches. I had not seen him for so long that I forgot some of his physical features. Not that I would ever forget him but his image in my mind was getting blurry.

I walk towards him and he gives me a warm smile when we reach each other. ”It’s nice seeing you, Lara. I’m so happy that you could make it.” 

“It’s nice being here too,” I replied and looked around, admiring the mansion. 

“Mind if I give you a hug?”

“Oh, no. Of course, you can give me a hug,” I chuckle, and we both embrace. He smells really good and I take in his scent. 

“How was your trip here?” Ashton asks when we break the hug. He begins to lead me to the entrance of the mansion.

“It was good…” My voice is bland and void of emotions. 

I thought that I was ready to be here but I don’t think that I am. The stupid voice in my head keeps reminding me that I would have had all of this life if I had just chosen to be with Ashton.&n
