He shouldn’t have gone to see her but he had been so intrigued to see her again, he could not help it.
Clary resisted the urge to roll her eyes as she replied, “Yes, she’s fine. I mean, she’s not exactly fine but she’s alive. According to the doctor, her liver is badly damaged.”
It all still seemed like a dream to Clary, she could still vividly remember how her mom was, lying on that cold floor. Her eyes were dull, void of any true light. Her skin was pale and purple-ish, and she could barely speak.
Clary could still remember what the room smelled like. The smell of burned noodles had been the aroma in the air.
