“Your mom over***ed?” Worry filled Mr. Clark’s voice as he tried to take in the information. “Is she okay?” He could not believe that. He wanted it to be a lie. 

He just saw her a week ago, when he had come to see Clary at the cabin after Selena had locked the omega up. 

Mr. Clark could not help but think that maybe it was because of his visit to Sarah at the restaurant that caused her to do something as scary as overdosing. 

He could not help but blame himself. He was not the exact role model of a good person in the past to Sarah, so he knew that the possibility of it being his fault that she overdosed was high.

He shouldn’t have gone to see her but he had been so intrigued to see her again, he could not help it.

Clary resisted the urge to roll her eyes as she replied, “Yes, she’s fine. I mean, she’s not exactly fine but she’s alive. According to the doctor, her liver is badly damaged.”
