Everyone sobered up and got back on track with what was being discussed. 

“So yeah, Levi’s drunk. But well, he’s a grown man, he can do whatever the hell he wants to,” Selena continued. “And as for Ace, we all know that he’s just a man-child. So let’s focus on the task at hand: getting Clary’s mom out of the hospital!” 

“Right,” Mr. Clark agreed. Everyone else nodded in agreement. 

Clary appreciated that everyone was on one page. She almost felt like she belonged even though Selena had made it clear over and over that she was way too lowly for that. 

“I don’t like this,” Levi said softly as he shook his head slowly. “Her mom is not supposed to be out of the hospital when she almost died just a day or two ago.”
