When Celine arrived at the mansion, it was already quiet. She took off her shoes and stepped quietly inside. She found the living room empty, and the lights had been turned off.
However, on the table, she saw a plate of food that seemed untouched. There was a small note next to it.
Dinner for you. I don't know when you'll be home, but I hope you eat this before you go to bed.
Celine let out a long sigh, reading Nico's neat handwriting. In the corner of her heart, there was a feeling of guilt that she couldn't ignore. But she shook her head, dismissing her thoughts.
She stepped upstairs, heading for her room. However, when she opened the door, the room was empty.
Nico wasn't sleeping there.
In Calvin's room, Nico sat on the edge of the bed while adjusting the blanket of his son who was already fast asleep. Calvin's face looked peaceful, undisturbed by his parents' problems. &
