Chapter 38
“You looked nice last night,” Harry shrugged and walked up to Brooklyn. “That dress was…” Harry smirked. “But I much prefer you like this.”
Brooklyn looked at Harry in the mirror, not sure how to reply.
“Come on, let’s go downstairs,” Harry said.
“Why?”
“Because you need food.”
“I… er… I think I should go,” Brooklyn said.
“After breakfast. Besides, it’s still early,” Harry said, and Brooklyn chewed on her lip, but nodded. “Just a warning, a lot of people live here, so you might see some people,” Harry said as they walked out of his room. He placed his hands on Brooklyn’s waist and guided her through the large house.
“Harry!” A woman called when they entered the kitchen. “Morning.”
Harry nodded to the woman; she was middle-aged and had dark hair.
“Oh, who’s this?” The woman asked, smiling at Brooklyn. “It’s not like you to bring girls home.”
This comforted Brooklyn.
