Chapter 24. Abalone Porridge

It was two in the morning when Jae entered the room, and Ha Joon was still smoking the few cigarettes he had in his pocket while seated on one of the benches in the living room.

Yes, Ha Joon hadn't slept since last night due to his brother's persistent calls and messages pleading with him to return Jae to the main residence. Ha Joon grinned while extinguishing his cigarette and the half-bottle of wine he had taken from the storeroom because they were so far from home.

Ha Joon got up from his chair and entered the room where Jae was sound asleep because he had nothing to do. Jae's breathing was complicated, and sweat ran down his cheeks.

Ha Joon started to exhibit signs of fear after learning that Jae also had a mild temperature. He was aware that Jae had been experiencing health issues for a while, and given the length and duration of their journey, it only made sense that Jae would be worn out and contagious with a fever.
