Amanda’s eyebrow arched, that knowing look making my stomach flip. “He could’ve fooled me with the way he was looking at you last night. The kid’s still whipped.”
I rolled my eyes, but I couldn’t fight the tiny smirk tugging at my lips.
Jason had always been easy to wind up. I stood, legs a little shaky, and padded barefoot to the kitchen, Amanda following like it was the most natural thing in the world.
I grabbed two bottles of water from the fridge, tossed her one.
“So,” she said, twisting the cap off, eyes never leaving me. “What now, trouble?”
I leaned against the counter, cold water bottle pressed to my neck, letting the chill sink into my skin while I watched Amanda sip hers.
