Chapter 63. The Pizza Guy

Enzo’s bike rumbled to a stop right in front of the science building at 8:57 a.m. I climbed off the back, pulled the helmet off, and shook my hair out.
He killed the engine, stayed straddling the seat, and tugged me in by the waist for one last slow kiss that tasted like coffee and last night.
“Text me when you’re done,” he said against my lips. “I’ll be here.”
I nodded, still half dazed from him, from sleep, from everything.
He watched me walk inside, purple hair catching the morning sun, until I disappeared through the doors.
The second I stepped into the corridor it hit me, the noise.
Whispers, laughter, phones out, screenshots being passed around like drugs.
The group chats were exploding. Someone had screen recorded the security cam footage that mysteriously appeared overnight, grainy, but Hartman’s face was unmistakable, Martha bent over his desk, skirt up, his wedding ring glinting under the lamp.
