I pushed the front door open and the smell of fresh coffee hit me like a warm hug.

Adrian was at the counter, shirtless, gray shorts riding low on his hips, hair still messy from sleep.

The morning light cut across his back, highlighting every line of muscle I’d memorized months ago. He was stirring sugar into a mug, humming something low under his breath.

He turned when he heard me, and the second his eyes landed on mine, his whole face softened.

I felt the blush crawl up my neck before I could stop it.

I walked straight to him, dropped my bag on the island, and slid the manila folder across the counter.

He frowned, curious. “What’s this?”

I took a breath, steady. “DNA results,” I said, my voice quiet but sure. “The baby’s yours. And it’s a boy.”

The spoon slipped from his fingers and clattered into the sink, the sharp ring of metal echoing in the quiet kitchen.

He stared at the folder like it might explode, the
