Chapter 167. What Follows

Becky paced back and forth, her eyes filled with worry, as she clutched her phone tightly against her chest. The bustling mall felt oddly silent as she waited for any sign of help. Suddenly, she heard faint, muffled voices coming from the elevator. Her heart skips a beat.

“Oh no, madam! Is that you!? She quickly took out her phone and dialed for help, pressing her trembling finger against the screen.

“Hello? Yes, my boss, she's trapped in the elevator! Please, we need help!” This was her fault. She should have gone with her boss. Soon the manager came rushing with some security. 

“What's going on, here,” the manager asked while his men rushed to the elevator. Becky was too agitated to explain.

“You should know these buildings are used by people…how can you keep an elevator which is not working!” Becky yelled, feeling frustrated. They knew the elevator wasn't working, but they used it anyway.
