Chapter 169. Bittersweet Love

ABANDONED CABIN—LIVING ROOM—NIGHT

Alana frantically paced the room, glancing out the fogged-up window every few seconds. Julius sat on a worn-out couch, worry etched across his face. They found a safe cabin on their way. It was too dangerous to stay in the car since it was getting dark.

“Oh my god, Julius, what are we going to do? We're stuck here in the middle of nowhere, with no phone service or gas. And it's pouring outside!” She panicked as she tried to look out the window. It was getting dark. She thought they could have some help, but to no avail.

“I know, Alana. It's not ideal, but we'll figure something out. Maybe someone will find us, or perhaps the rain will stop soon,” Julius replied reluctantly. Alana turned to face Julius, her expression filled with fear and frustration.

“Julius, I'm scared. What if we're stuck here all night? And I can't even call for help,” she was certain Ricardo would be worried.
