Chapter 46. A Job
It was the third in a row. The third bottle of alcohol Lucy was downing in her stomach out of frustration. She just received her third rejection in a row. No one wanted her ‘expertise’.
She was only twenty-two but was expected to have at least seven years of experience to work at the big shots companies.
“How was that supposed to happen?!” she yelled to the cloud as she chugged another cup of alcohol. She grunted, smashing the cup on the ground when it was empty.
Envy and annoyance filled her heart. Her colleagues working in those companies had connections, their dads knew the right persons.
But in her case, she barely knew her father. And her uncle was as useless as a rock to her. Her mother was also slowly becoming an embarrassment to her.
Lucy hated everything about her. She had no one to turn to!
Just then, she received a beep call. Then a message.
“This is Damien, your in-law, can I call?”
