Chapter 58. Strange Call

Ken shot him a glare. His wife doesn’t show him the signs he needed. She doesn’t love him? “Then, is she a gold digger?”

  “What? Where did that come from? How could you ask me that to my face?” Damien was bewildered.

 A poker face came on Ken’s usually expressionless face. “But you just said she’s not romantically interested in you. Then why else did she marry you? Isn’t it for your money?”

 Damien caught on on what Ken meant, still he was annoyed that he quickly came to that conclusion. “You don’t like her, do you? Your every word about her is demeaning.”

 “I don’t know her still I’ve never heard her call you at the office asking how you were, or make snacks for your workers or visit here. She’s really not interested in you.”

 All his arguments made sense so all Damien could respond with was “I married her.”

 Ken interpreted the words as “I’d remain with her whether it’s disadvantageous or not.”
