Chapter 15. You Left
Most people treat love as something that has life and can reproduce. And maybe they’re right. But love is something I have never experienced in my marriage given it was borne out of convenience. Kian says he likes me, that is close to love right? And me? I don’t even know if I love Kian.

“Farrah?”.
I blushed as I looked at my mother. “What? Did you say something?”.
She sighed. “I hate it when you space out on me. I said there’s someone at the door.”
It was then I realized she was speaking in whispers. My blood turned cold.
“Do you suppose he is here?”.
“I don’t reckon the Lewry knows about this place”.
“Then who could it be?”.
“We won’t know if we don’t open the door. You quietly take the stairs and go to your room. You will know it when you see your bags there. I will come to meet you there when I’m done”.
