I carried the cat gently in my arms, careful not to wake it from its slumber. Her fur was soft against my skin, and its weight was light in my arms. I could feel its gentle purring as I cradled it close, its little body rising and falling with each breath. It was like holding a piece of companionship.
I walked to where I had parked my car and opened the backseat where I slowly placed Jennabeth and she adjusted herself properly on the seat before continuing with her sleeping.
What I love about innocent pets like cats is their simple, pure joy in living with humans, even though we're capable of hurting them. They stay loyal and devoted to us, even after we're gone.
