And then I remembered something. I had never watched the video of Kat’s night with David Johnson in the dungeon. Before my head could consider what to do, my fingers were navigating to it via the trackpad. Eventually, my brain caught up to my hands. What was the point of looking at it? I knew roughly what had happened. And so much had transpired since then. Kat had walked away. David was fine with it, at least to some degree since I had subsidized the cost of the football parties.
Nevertheless, a specter nagged at me. I needed to know what had happened that night. Was it really just a breeding fantasy they had acted out? They had been locked in the room all night, for the better part of eight hours. What had kept them so keenly occupied? Did I want to know? Did it matter? Kat was on her way home. David Johnson was out of the picture.
Yet I still pushed play.
